Our client is a commercially-orientated Top Tier Legal 500, who are recognised for providing high level legal advice across all areas of law. This is a unique opportunity working in a specialist team of six, who manage contentious probate matters for both claimants and defendants, acting for executors, trustees and beneficiaries across this larger firm's four offices.

Position Overview
As a Legal Director, you will provide senior-level support of a technical nature to the Contentious Probate Team, working collaboratively to manage the smooth running of cases. The team handle a wide-ranging of privately funded work acting for claimants and defendants, executors, trustees and beneficiaries to include will validity disputes, Inheritance Act claims, trust disputes, and estate administration disputes. Also assisting with the removal of personal representatives and related professional negligence claims, as well as handling TOLATA claims.

This is a leadership role, you will manage and support the team, considering workflow and growth, whilst using your technical knowledge in probate litigation. Supporting the Partners, working directly with clients, and managing fee earners and paralegals, this is a varied position, where you will be integral to the department to ensure clients recent solid legal guidance and ensure all parties work collaboratively for the best outcome. You will develop strategies to consider business growth, improving procedures and ensuring policy and compliance for clients a mix of business owners and HNW.

Requirements

  • Strong technical grounding in contentious probate law, from 8+ PQE
  • Proven business development skills and experience in marketing to attract clients
  • Strong communicator with people management skills
  • Commercially astute, understanding deadlines
  • Ability to improve quality standards.
  • Marketing and raising the team's profile
