Our client, an award-winning provider of workplace pensions, is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join their team in Leeds. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified solicitor to advance their career within a supportive and collaborative environment.
Position Overview
The Senior Legal Counsel will play a crucial role in supporting the General Counsel by designing, embedding, and monitoring robust legal frameworks across the organisation, while providing expert legal advice and support to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
Responsibilities
- Support the General Counsel in managing legal functions
- Draft and approve legal documentation to minimise risks
- Provide legal counsel and technical support to colleagues
- Develop and deliver legal training to the business
- Establish relationships with external legal advisors
- Advise on legal and regulatory changes
- Advise on occupational pension schemes legal issues
Requirements
- Qualified solicitor with 3+ years' post-qualification experience
- Experience advising on defined benefit pension scheme documentation
- Experience in dispute resolution and pension investments
- Knowledge of defined contribution pension schemes
- Commercial acumen and understanding of legal/regulatory environment
