When a heatwave hits the UK, everyone is itching to get outside and enjoy the sunshine. The sunny weather calls for fun times with friends – whether in a pub garden, the beach or even a last-minute staycation. With temperatures exceeding 32 degrees in the UK this week data from Parkdean Resorts reveals that Brits could be set to skip work to take advantage of the hot weather.

Brits set to skip work as temperatures soar

A survey of 2,000 Brits from Parkdean Resorts revealed that Brits are in the habit of sneaking off work and breaking rules to enjoy the heat.

4 MILLION (1 in 10) Brits have left work early to creep off and enjoy the sunshine, and 1.6 MILLION (4%) even admit to ‘pulling a sickie’ during a heatwave.

With this in mind, Parkdean Resorts has predicted when heatwaves will grace the UK this summer so Brits can get their annual leave booked in advance. Analysing the past five years of weather data in the UK to find the ultimate heatwave dates – the best dates for a summer break have been uncovered.

In the past five years, temperatures during these dates have averaged 27.2 °C, meaning that this year will be set for sunshine too.
